NYC Earthquake...
'The City that never sleeps...'
WOW…I am shocked by this news and I don’t live in NYC.
My husband and I experienced an earthquake while staying in a hotel in Los Angeles a few years back.
I knew right away it was an earthquake when my easy chair began to shake while I was reading. I woke my husband and told him to get ready to go down the stairs if we had to do so.
The Hotel announced over the PA that we should not be concerned and did not have to leave our rooms. They did ask us to stay off our cell phones as it might interfere with emergency responders.
Los Angeles has mini quakes almost daily that go unnoticed as Angelenos go about their daily lives. New York City not so much!
Remembering back to the 70s when there was a citywide black out in NYC and I was working nights at NYU Medical Center…it was amazing how the City dealt with such a crippling event at that time…no cell phones…no 24 hour news.
New Yorkers deal with ‘stuff’ every day in so many different ways.
Thank God, so far no serious damage…keep on being New Yorkers!
